China Bowl
Discover Legendary Back Bowl skiing for both advanced and intermediate guests, with some of Vail’s steepest runs, as well as easier grades, in the same beautiful bowl.

Vail Snowmaking & Early Season Terrain


Blaze new trails all season in Vail with enhanced snowmaking and new early season experience with access to higher elevation terrain, a broader variety of trails, and improved early season ski school terrain. Vail opens early season with skiing and snowboarding out of Vail Village, with upload and download access to the Mid-Vail area via Gondola One. 

The resort will offer skiing and riding terrain for all ability levels on trails accessed by Mountaintop Express Lift (#4) out of Mid-Vail including Swingsville, Ramshorn, Slifer Express, Cappuccino, Upper Powerline, Lower Meadows, beginner terrain out of Golden Peak’s Gopher Hill Lift (#12) and Sherry’s Carpet (#33), and the connector trails between Golden Peak and Vail Village. 

Vail understands that you only get one start to the season, and they do not take the early season lightly. With over 500 acres of snowmaking, early season terrain is available for all ability levels.

Lift Tickets & Ski School


Planning a visit? Buy your lift ticket or pass or Epic pass in advance. Lift tickets are not sold through the Tivoli Lodge, they can be purchased online at Vail.com.

Vail offers a variety of ski or snowboarding lessons for all skill levels from first timer, beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Lessons are offered in groups or private lessons and include professional instructions and lift tickets will need to be purchased separately.
