Enjoying fresh powder on Vail mountain will always be our first love, but this year brings new meaning to spring, summer and fall in Colorado. Vail is transitioning from snow to sunflowers, and they are doing it in a big way. Adventure Ridge is set to add some great new features to the multitude of activities already offered at the top of the Eagle Bahn Gondola. And the resort hopes to have these available by mid-summer. Visitors will be able to take to the sky with a brand new four line, 1,200 foot zip line and two challenging aerial courses, all while maintaining fun for every age. Take the Adventure Skyway or Little Eagle Lift to the top of the zip line and experience Vail like you never have before. Race through Colorado’s big, blue sky at speeds that will guarantee to make your eyes water and bring a smile to your face that will last all day long. Test your balance and strength with the two new aerial challenge courses, and display your abilities with the addition of a climbing wall. Prepare yourself for three levels of elevated elements to maneuver through including: ladders, rope bridges, swinging logs, cargo nets, and more. And don’t worry, Adventure Ridge wouldn’t dream of letting you tackle this adventure without requiring a cable, attached harness. The aerial challenge offers a beginner course which features four stable, distinct elements for all to climb and conquer For those seeking a greater thrill, the intermediate to advanced course offers more than a dozen different elements that require more balance and upper body strength to successfully complete. Using these great new activities as a platform for growth in 2013 – 2014 will offer a completely new look for Vail, with Epic Discovery. With the creation of this new expansive summer mountain adventure, Vail Resorts look to encourage environmental education and forest stewardship with innovative activities spanning the mountain.
